Day 1
Travel to Narkanda from Delhi / Chandigarh / Shimla
Day 2
Trek to Hatu Peak (3,300 m) or visit Hatu Peak by car / jeep. Trek to the peak takes almost 90 minutes
one way. Also visit the alpine meadow of Jaubaug, a 20 minute leveled walk from the peak. While returning from the peak visit
the apple valley of Thanedhar and Kotgarh by car / jeep. The Paramjyotir temple at Thanedhar and Nag temple at Tan Jubbar
with a small lake beside makes an interesting day trip.
Day 3
Visit Jallori Pass,(3,550 m) 90 km, from Narkanda a three hours drive via Sainj, Luhri, Aani & Khanag.
A breath taking scenery through Kullu Valley. 45 minutes level walk from the Pass takes you to Sarolsar Lake among deep forest.
Day 4
Departure to Rohru from Narkanda. A three hour journey by road via Baggi, Tikker
Day 5
Visit the Hatkoti temple and trout fishing at Chirgaon
Day 6
Departure to Sarahan via Sungri, Tacklech, Rampur. 4-5 hours of pleasant hill drive
Day 7
Visit the Bhimakali Temple and Bird Park at Sarahan
Day 8
Departure from Sarahan to Kalpa, 4-5 hours drive
Day 9
Visit Kalpa and Recong Peo and savor the mighty Kinner Kailash Peak
Day 10
Visit Sangla Valley, 40 km, back to Kalpa in the evening
Day 11
For the adventuress visit Nako Lake, 105 km from Kalpa. Night stay at basic hotel / tent at Nako or
rest house / guest house at Puh
Day 12
Back to Kalpa for the night
Day 13
Kalpa to Rampur for night stay. 5 hours drive

Return journey from Rampur
Update on road link between Kalpa and Kaza (April
18, 2006)
For the past three years the road between Kalpa and Kaza was not open for
traffic due to landslide at Malling Nalla. Now a new road has been constructed bypassing the Malling Nalla from Nako to Chango
a stretch of 11 km. Kalpa to Kaza is now connected by direct road.
Important information about type of vehicle for the journey
A sturdy SUV vehicle in good condition is suggested for the trip as the entire
journey is on hilly tracks with steep climbs. Vehicles like Qualis, Tata Sumo, Bolero, Scorpio are ideal for the trip. These
vehicles have good ground clearance which is essential for the journey. Almost all the journey is on mettaled track with only
a few portion of dirt tracks. Cars are good till Kalpa and the journey can be made in cars with better ground clearance. Please
ensure the tyres are in good condition and should not be tubeless as repairing of tubeless tyres is not available in
this region.
If traveling further north of Kalpa to Puh and Nako there are many streams on way.
A vehicle with good ground clearance is recommended or the vehicle may get stuck. Carrying fuel along is essential as the
last fuel station is at Powari near Kalpa. Please ensure to carry at least 30 liters of fuel for the return journey.
